About us
The anti-corporate manifesto.
basicbitchsites started for one deeply unglamorous reason: we watched too many brilliant small businesses get quoted £6,000 and a ten-week timeline for a five-page website. Then get charged £95 an hour to change a phone number.
We are not an agency. There is no Soho loft, no foosball table, no Head of Brand Resonance, no discovery workshop where you are handed a marker pen and asked what your business would be if it were an animal. There is a developer, a laptop, and an unhealthy amount of respect for your money.
The word “basic” is not an insult here. It is the whole point.
Basic means the fundamentals, done properly. A site that loads fast. Copy that says what you do. Structure that Google and ChatGPT can both actually read. Hosting that does not fall over. Updates that do not come with an invoice attached. That is 95% of what a small business website needs — and roughly 5% of what most agencies charge for.
Everything we build is designed to be taken away from us. After twelve months your entire codebase is yours, exported free, migrated free, no exit penalty and no passive-aggressive breakup email. We would rather keep you because you are happy than because you are stuck.
If you want a 40-page brand deck, we are absolutely the wrong people. If you want to be live and getting found next week, hello.
Sick of the phone-call shuffle?.
Sick of negotiating with some basicbitch on the phone after your contract ends at £39.99 a month, only for the new one to be £20 higher despite the same sh*t service, because some guy wants a new jet to show off to his big corp mates? What the f*ck is that about.
The truth is: we're new.
We're new, we're building our reputation from zero, and we'll need your honest review and feedback to help refine us. That's exactly why the pricing is what it is. Tell us what's rubbish — we'd genuinely rather know.
So here is the deal while we find our feet: 10% off every plan until October, and 35% off on a monthly rolling agreement once you have been with us a year. Loyalty pays, and honesty costs us nothing.
